Position Summary
We're looking for an Associate Backend Engineer who enjoys building reliable software platforms and APIs that power AI products.
You'll work closely with the Technical Lead to implement backend services, databases, integrations, and infrastructure supporting AI applications.
This is a learning-focused role with plenty of mentorship and opportunities to grow into a senior engineer.

Responsibilities
Backend Development
Build REST APIs using FastAPI.
Design and implement backend services.
Develop database models and queries.
Build integrations with third-party APIs.
Implement authentication and authorization.
Develop asynchronous background jobs.
Optimize API performance.
Infrastructure
Work with Docker and Docker Compose.
Maintain PostgreSQL databases.
Implement Redis caching and queues.
Deploy applications to Linux environments.
Monitor application health.
Troubleshoot production issues.
Quality
Write automated tests.
Debug backend services.
Participate in code reviews.
Document APIs.
Follow engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications
Required
1–3 years of backend development experience (professional, internship, freelance, or significant personal projects).
Python.
SQL.
Git.
REST API development.
Basic Linux knowledge.
Strong analytical thinking.
Ability to learn quickly.
Preferred
FastAPI.
PostgreSQL.
SQLAlchemy.
Docker.
Async Python.
Redis.
Nice to Have
WebSockets.
CI/CD.
Linux server administration.
Nginx.
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you'll be able to:
Build production-ready backend features independently.
Design and implement database schemas.
Develop secure and well-tested APIs.
Integrate AI services into backend systems.
Own backend components from development through deployment.
